We handle most everyday laundry with care and attention — but since Laundry Pros use residential-sized washers and dryers, often in their own homes, there are a few important guidelines to keep in mind.
Here’s everything you need to know before placing your order.
What We Can Wash
If it’s machine-washable and fits comfortably in a standard home washer, we can usually take care of it. Besides everyday clothing (shirts, pants, dresses, skirts, activewear, undergarments, socks, etc) and household linens (sheets, towels, washcloths, blankets, mattress protectors, etc), Laundry Pros can typically wash:
Common Household Items
Machine-washable pillows
Stuffed animals
Flexible, machine-washable rugs
Mop heads (machine washable only, see hazardous materials guidelines below)
Pet beds (see pet guidelines below)
Oversized Items ($8 Fee)
If an item is so large or bulky that it requires its own wash and dry cycle, that's fine, we can still wash it — but an Oversized Item Fee of $8 will apply.
Examples may include:
Extra-puffy comforters
Very large blankets
Bulky pet beds
Thick mattress toppers
If it fills the washer by itself, it’s considered oversized.
Items We May Not Accommodate
Because Laundry Pros use residential equipment, some extra-large or rigid items simply won’t fit safely in the machine. These items will be returned unlaundered — and you won’t be charged.
Examples:
Thick king-sized comforters
Inflexible or heavy rugs
Extra-large curtains or drapes
Horse blankets
Large foam toppers
Oversized industrial items
Items We Cannot Accept
For health, safety, and equipment protection reasons, we cannot process:
Dry Cleaning
Poplin does not offer dry cleaning services. Any garments labeled “dry clean only” — including suits, structured blazers, and formalwear that requires professional dry cleaning — cannot be processed..
Excessive Pet Hair
We love your pets — but items with thick, matted pet hair can damage machines and affect other customers’ laundry. Please shake out pet beds, blankets, and clothing before sending them in.
Pest-Infested Items
Laundry with bed bugs, cockroaches, or other active infestations.
Excessive Bodily Fluids
Normal wear happens — and small amounts of blood, urine, or minor staining on clothing are okay. However, we cannot accept items that are heavily soiled with bodily fluids, including clothing soaked in urine, large amounts of blood, visible feces, or chunks of vomit. For the safety of all users on the platform, items must be free of excessive biological contamination before pickup.
Hazardous Materials
Items exposed to gasoline, motor oil, industrial grease, solvents, strong chemical agents, or other flammable substances cannot be laundered due to safety risks.
Non-Laundry or High-Risk Items
We’re unable to process wigs or hair extensions, leather, suede, or fur items, rubber-backed bath mats (which can damage washers and dryers), or garments labeled “spot clean only.”
When in Doubt
If you’re unsure about a specific item, reach out to Concierge before scheduling your order. We’re happy to help you confirm what’s good to go.
We appreciate you helping us keep laundry safe, clean, and running smoothly for everyone.
